Bath Body Works True Blue Spa Heel of Approval Cracked Heel Treatment
Hello all,
I am back again with one more skin care product and this one is for our feet. We neglect our feet always as we generally take them for granted. Well, it is the other way round for me. I always take much care of them but alas, they never look good. 🙁 I have super dry skin (that I have got from my Mom) and my feet are the driest part of my body. Most of the time, they look like I have sand on them – they are so white with dryness. Come winters and the problem is aggravated and even after so much TLC, my feet develop cracks, no not the huge, bleeding ones (thankfully!!!) but minor white cracks. I have tried many foot creams but these cracks just did not go. 🙁
Nowadays, I am so much into Bath and Body Works products. When I found Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa Cracked Heel Treatment with Glycolic Acid Heel of Approval, a product designed specifically for the dry, cracked heels, I thought of giving it a try. Though after checking it out in the store, I did have doubts on the product's efficiency, but then the SA insisted that I should get it and could return and get my money back if I didn't like the product. Having been pleased with Bath and Body Works products in the past, I decided to try it out. 🙂

My Experience with Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa Cracked Heel Treatment:
Heel of Approval Cracked Heel Treatment is one from the True Blue Spa line of Bath and Body Works. True Blue Spa products are mainly centered around intensive hand and foot care. The active ingredients in the cream are glycolic acid and shea butter. Glycolic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) whic is popular in many skin care products. It breaks down the top layer of dead skin to reveal fresh new skin. In this case, it gets rid of that rough layer of dead skin on the feet to reveal soft new layer. Shea butter nourishes and hydrates the skin. AHA may increase the skin's sensitivity to the sun and may result in a sunburn. To reduce the possibility of sunburn, you can simply apply sunscreen to the area you have applied the cream.
The foot cream is white in color and comes in a tub packing. It also has a secondary thin plastic lid inside. I would have really preferred a tube packing for this since it is a foot cream. I find it very unhygienic dipping my hands in the tub for applying it on my feet. The foot cream has very thick consistency and rich texture.
It has a very pleasant fragrance which is very fresh and fruity and not at all medicated like typical foot creams. The cream is surprisingly good. Surprisingly – because I don't know why but I didn't really expect this cream to work. As the cream has a very thick texture, very little is needed per application. It applies very smoothly on your skin and gets absorbed in a couple of minutes.
A little goes a long way. I have been using this foot cream for around a month now. I used it once a day for around 2 weeks and used it twice a day (right after the shower and before going to the bed) for another 2 weeks and you can see the tub is still almost full (and I used to really slather it on). 😛 The foot cream is moisturizing but not greasy. The cream dries out fast on your skin, so you don't have to worry about leaving the greasy marks all over your bed sheets. Also, if you use it in the morning as well, you can put on shoes within a couple of minutes.
The foot cream has made my feet softer but has not made a huge difference in the cracks I had. The minor ones have disappeared but the bigger ones are still there, though much smaller than they were when I started using this cream. It has also prevented developing any further cracks but hasn't resolved my problem totally. I guess my stubborn feet need more time with this, but I am still happy with the cream since none of the foot creams (even Vaseline is not effective on my cracked feet) I have used so far has given me even these much results though I am very regular with my foot care.
I recommend using it right before going to bed, and wearing socks so that it absorbs more effectively. Using the product right after the shower also helps to make it more effective as your skin is softer and would absorb the cream easily.
I have also used it sometimes on the dry patches on my elbows, knees and also on my cuticles and needless to say, this cream has made them soft and more moisturized.

Would I Repurchase Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa Cracked Heel Treatment – Heel of Approval?
Overall, I like this cream and I feel using this regularly would definitely make rest of the cracks on my heels disappear too. 😀 Also, very little is needed so this huge tub is going to last me long. But yes once it is over, I would be repurchasing it for sure. 😀
